Started a Podcast

Not long ago, I had the chance to start my very own podcast which is called Danny C. Talking Sports. You can find it on platforms such as Anchor, Spotify and Apple Podcasts and a few other platforms as well. I started the podcast on Anchor which is a great app where you have the ability to start your own podcast…for free! They distribute your podcast to other platforms over time which I find really cool. I’m already onto my third episode and I’m working on future episodes as I write this.

For my first 3 episodes that I’ve released so far and upcoming episodes as well, I have and will release over time all interviews with great people that I’ve had the honor and pleasure to talk too. I’ve done all these interviews in the past 3 months due to this great experience I had doing an podcast internship with this place in my school College of Staten Island called the Media Culture Labs. I’ve done a lot of my interviews in there. I learned so much about podcasts with my boss who has taught me so much about them since he works on one himself with a colleague of his. I’ve learned to edit my own podcasts and I still am with this place. I can’t wait to see my show goes from here and only time will tell what the future has in store for me. I’m about to be going into my last year of college and my plan after that is to start working towards my dream job which is to become a sports broadcaster and be seen by tons of people watching the game hearing me talk about it.

Here is a link to my podcast which will bring you to my latest episode if you decide to check it out and my other episodes as well which will be provided down below. Let me know what you guys think of my podcast, and I appreciate the support. Thanks.

My breakdown of my interview with Fox Sports West Reporter Carrlyn Bathe

Recently, I had the honor to interview Fox Sports West Reporter who covers teams such as the NHL’s Kings, MLB’s Angels, and the NBA’s Clippers; and we talked about her job duties where she even works as a digital host and field producer for Fox Sports West. We talked about her time as a in-arena host for the Los Angeles Kings. We even got into talking about her ride along with Danilo Gallinari who was a former Los Angeles Clipper. She would tell about her history with memorizing her lines and knowing what to say when she’s talking in front of a television especially when she’s live. Bathe gave myself and others including women great advice for the people who want to go into this field of journalism.

Overall, it was a really in-depth interview with her journey to where she got today. I enjoyed talking to her about how she handled criticism thrown her way, and her ability to brush it off and be the best reporter she can be. She inspired people like myself and I know she will inspire others when my interview with her to the world when the time is right. Now, it’s on to the next interview for me.

Meeting NBA Reporter Adrian Wojnarowski

It was just about three weeks ago when I went to a Q&A session where I got to see and meet and greet the NBA’s top reporter for ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski aka ‘Woj’. Adrian covers all the latest news when it comes what free agents sign with their desired NBA team, what teams players get traded too and all other kinds of news that is going on around the NBA. The Q&A session was taken place at the Tissot Store right in the heart of New York City near Madison Square Garden. The session was hosted by Justin Termine who is the host for NBA Radio on Sirius-XM radio, and it lasted about an hour and a half. I got to meet Justin Termine after the session along with sports columnist and podcast host Brandon Robinson aka ‘Scoop B’ and take pictures with them. Justin asked the ‘Woj’ a few questions relating to the upcoming free agency at the time and the NBA draft that was a day prior to the session.

After Termine asked a few questions to Wojnarowski, the fans who attended the session were able to ask a question to him. I was one of the fans who asked him question asking “Since, I’m up and coming sports journalist, do you have any advice or tips on how to be a good reporter?”. The ‘Woj’ gave me a three minute long response which I really appreciated where he basically told me to just report anything that you feel like is news, look at your surroundings and he said the hardest thing he ever had to cover was high-school football because of the rainy Friday nights with his papers getting wet and he said if I can cover high-school football on a Friday night, I can cover the White House, the NBA Finals, and I can cover KD’s free agency. I took so much knowledge from his response, and I realized I’m only going to grow as a journalist and reporter. When the session ended, I was able to actually meet him and thanked him for his response to my question then I took a picture with him. Overall, it was a great experience and I don’t think I would have asked him a question if it wasn’t thanks to this podcast internship that I’m currently doing with my school, College of Staten Island where I have interviewed four guests already for a podcast, and I’m only gaining more confidence to talk to people and ask them questions.
